Cosgrove/Meurer Productions is an award-winning documentary production company based in Burbank, California. CMP aims to tell compelling, true stories that inspire audiences.

CMP was established by John Cosgrove and Terry Meurer in 1987, with the creation of “Unsolved Mysteries.” The six-time Emmy-nominated series is responsible for over 260 solved cases.

CMP has produced over 300 hours of prime-time network television, as well as pilots and series for Sci-Fi, Lifetime, Nat Geo, History, FX and the Biography Channel. In addition to reality series, documentaries and specials, CMP has produced sixteen movies-for-television for ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox, Showtime, USA, Disney Channel, and A&E. These films featured stars such as Hilary Swank, Brendan Frasier, Martin Sheen and Jane Seymour.

In 2020, Netflix released 12 new episodes of Unsolved Mysteries produced by Cosgrove/Meurer Productions and 21 Laps. On February 17, 2021, the Unsolved Mysteries podcast was launched. Episodes are available for free on Audacy, Apple , Spotify, or wherever you get your shows. 

Meet the CMP Team

Terry Dunn Meurer

Terry Dunn Meurer is the President and CEO of Cosgrove/Meurer Productions and co-creator of "Unsolved Mysteries." Career highlights include producing and directing award-winning documentaries for HBO's "America Undercover" series.

John Cosgrove

John Cosgrove is the co-creator of Unsolved Mysteries. He directed the landmark documentary "Five American Guns" for HBO as well as "Missing: Have You Seen This Person?" for NBC, the forerunner to Unsolved Mysteries.

Christine Lenig

Christine Lenig is the Senior Vice President of Cosgrove/Meurer Productions and co-producer of “Unsolved Mysteries” for Netflix. She is proud to be part of a team that tells true stories that offer hope and closure.

Courtney Ennis

Courtney Ennis is the Vice President of Cosgrove/Meurer Productions and co-producer of “Unsolved Mysteries” for Netflix. She has been with CMP since 2003.

Cynthia Bowles

Cynthia Bowles is Senior Story Producer at Cosgrove/Meurer Productions. After working on National Geographic Documentaries, story research at ABC's "Ripley's Believe It or Not!," and project development at various studios, she considers her many years with the amazing team at CMP and "Unsolved Mysteries" as the best of her career.

Ava Feneberger

Ava Feneberger is the Executive Assistant to the VPs of Cosgrove/Meurer Productions. She graduated from Emerson College in May 2020 and is so thankful to have found a home with this incredible team and their important body of work.
